I’m Guja Pusterla, a destination wedding planner based in Lake Como, helping couples from around the world create thoughtful and elegant weddings across Italy.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of guiding international couples through the journey of planning their celebration — from the first ideas to the final moments of a wedding shared with family and friends in some of Italy’s most extraordinary locations.
My approach to wedding planning is deeply personal. Every couple arrives with their own story, their own vision, and their own expectations, and my role is to guide them through the entire journey — from the first ideas to the final moments of the celebration.
Planning a wedding from abroad can feel overwhelming at times. My goal is to make the experience smooth, clear, and enjoyable, so couples can truly enjoy the process of creating something unforgettable.
A collaborative approach
In recent years, my work has naturally evolved into a collaborative process.
Many weddings are now designed and planned together with Marcella Molinari, wedding designer and creative partner.
With a background in fashion and design, Marcella brings a refined aesthetic sensibility to each celebration, shaping the visual identity and atmosphere with great attention to detail.
Marcella and I collaborate closely throughout the entire process — combining planning, design, and creativity in a way that feels natural and seamless.
While I guide the overall planning, coordination, and guest experience, I am also deeply involved in the creative direction. At the same time, Marcella contributes to the planning process, ensuring that every design choice aligns with the flow and structure of the event.
My path to wedding planning
My journey into the world of events began with studies in tourism, which later took me to the United States, where I attended Niagara University in New York.
Before focusing entirely on wedding planning, I also gained experience in the hospitality industry, working with renowned properties such as the Grand Hotel Tremezzo, where I had the opportunity to engage with an international and highly discerning clientele.
From late 2018 to 2021, I worked at a wedding venue on Lake Como, where I was directly involved in the planning and coordination of weddings and events, including the management of in-house catering as well as external catering services for off-site locations such as Villa del Balbianello.
This hands-on experience gave me a deeper understanding of the operational side of events — from logistics to timing, from service flow to guest experience.
Living and studying abroad allowed me to experience different cultures and perspectives, something that continues to shape the way I work today with couples from all over the world.
This international experience helped me understand what couples need most when planning a wedding in another country: clear communication, trusted local knowledge, and someone who truly understands their vision.
Beyond wedding planning
Outside of weddings, there are many small things that shape who I am.

Sport has always played an important role in my life. I spent many years playing volleyball, an experience that taught me discipline, teamwork, and resilience — values that I bring into my work every day. Today, tennis has become my new challenge and passion.
I also love cooking and discovering new culinary experiences, something that often inspires ideas I later share with my couples when designing their wedding celebrations in Italy.
I’m also a big fan of films and TV series — especially crime stories, which probably says a lot about my attention to detail.
And then there’s Potter, my fluffy dog and the most pampered member of our family.
In recent years, I’ve incorporated pilates and meditation into my routine, helping me stay balanced and present, even during the busiest wedding seasons.
And yes — I’m happily engaged myself. So I know what it feels like: the excitement, the ideas, the butterflies, and all those little details that suddenly start to matter more than you expected.
